Hello, I was born in the Netherlands in 1973.
And then a fortune teller told my mom she sensed a little turbulence in my aura.
And then my childhood years were relatively easy.
And then I did well in school and geared up for a classical high school education.
And then, in 1984, I got hypnotized by a documentary about a new thing called Hip Hop.
And then I assembled a crew and got busted for doing graffiti at the age of twelve.
And then, in the late 80s, House Music and drugs came along.
And then, in the early 90s, I started DJ-ing and organizing parties.
And then I also became a soccer hooligan and got arrested again.
And then I failed proper education three times in a row.
And then I found a job in a lemonade factory.
And then I calculated that I had swallowed about 500 Es in two years.
And then I decided to turn things around.
And then I discovered what ‘Control-C’ and ‘Control-V’ were and taught myself graphic design.
And then, in 1999, I tried chatting on ICQ.
And then the first person I talked to was a Swedish woman, and I decided I was going to bring her to Holland and marry her.
And then a friend and I started a web design company in a spare bedroom.
And then the company grew.
And then we started another company.
And then, a few years later, we had over a hundred employees.
And then my wife and I learned we couldn’t have kids the easy way.
And then, after a lot of failed IVF attempts, we decided to go for adoption.
And then I got involved in a bar fight and got convicted.
And then we weren’t allowed to adopt anymore.
And then I turned it around by writing a sincere letter to the Justice Department.
And then one of our companies was awarded Best Internet Company in the Netherlands.
And then the other company got acquired by an American firm.
And then we were finally allowed to pick up a fantastic but traumatized three-year-old Chinese boy who had been abandoned at birth.
And then our new family entered a difficult period.
And then I finally got diagnosed with a disorder and had to take the edges off with medication.
And then I fulfilled my longstanding vow to my wife by getting her that house in Sweden.
And then I decided to sell the business and take a vacation with no return ticket.
And then things went very quiet. And boring. For a while.
And then, in 2018, life started rolling again when I found new hobbies: painting, making music, and writing about all of the above.
And then I decided to maintain those hobbies until the bitter end.
